KINGMAN PRAYER JOURNEY - TARGET METH
November 10, 2007

“Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!” – Romans 7:24-25

Coordinated by Arizona Call to Prayer
State Co-Director, Guy Chadwick and
Mohave County Coordinator, April Cox

A BRIEF SUMMARY REPORT:

In Kingman, about 50 intercessors gathered under the uniting banner of Jesus on Saturday morning, November 10, 2007 at Abundant Life Family Worship Center.

An atmosphere of worship was led by Pastor Jonathan Williams who came all the way up from Yuma to participate.  Joining Jonathan on the worship team were Pastor Randy of Abundant Life and Jim Cox, husband of Mohave County Arizona Call to Prayer coordinator, April Cox.

After worship and opening prayers, Galatians 5:16-26 was read which outlines the life and death war of the flesh and the Spirit, and speaks of the “deeds of the flesh” including drug usage (“sorcery” – “pharmakeia” in the Greek).  We are to go forth in the fruit of the Spirit:  “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…” (v.22-23).

“Pharmakeia” defined:  1. Use or the administering of drugs; 2. Poisoning; 3. Sorcery, magical arts, often found in connection with idolatry and fostered by it; 4. Deceptions and seductions of idolatry.

Kingman Police Detective Sergeant Rusty Cooper provided a PowerPoint presentation complete with many graphic photos of the effect of Meth on local households in the community.  He gave police statistics and examples of individual cases.  He spoke of the way Meth works as an acidic poison in the user’s system and somehow brings a disassociation to a person’s conscience.  His wife Jessica then shared the recent tragedy of her beloved brother-in-law who lost his life at the end of a four-year battle with Meth addiction this summer, leaving her sister and young children to pick up the pieces . . . PRESCOTT - TALIESIN WEST - TUCSON
September 22-29, 2007

"Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses." - Joshua 1:3

The week of September 22 - September 29 has been especially intense for Arizona Call to Prayer and our special guest, Henry Gruver - "Prayer Walker to the World".  ACP has brought intercessors from around Arizona together for three special assignments to address some of the significant root issues of Arizona history.  Henry Gruver, who began his prayer walking on the streets of Phoenix in the 1960s, has just recently moved back to Arizona for brief stints here and graciously shifted his schedule to help lead us in these prayer journeys.

"But whom you forgive anything, I forgive also; for indeed what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, I did it for your sakes in the presence of Christ, in order that no advantage be taken of us by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his schemes." - 2 Corinthians 2:10-11

PRESCOTT

At 10:00am on Saturday, September 22, seventy intercessors gathered in Prescott to deal with the roots of Freemasonry and related issues that come with harboring a pervasive secret society with covenants, oaths, and idols.

On July 25, 1865, the first masonic lodge meeting in Arizona was hosted at the original "governor's mansion" which served as the home and meeting place of Arizona's first territorial governor, John N. Goodwin, who was a Freemason.  The governor's mansion still stands fully restored as part of the Sharlot Hall Museum in downtown Prescott.

The group first assembled a few blocks away at Church on the Street for preparatory worship and prayer.  After a briefing on the principles of prayer walking and Freemasonry the group divided into 12 small prayer teams.  These teams then went to the beautiful historic grounds where the governor's mansion is located.   For more than an hour the intercessors, led by Henry Gruver, covered the governor's mansion and grounds thoroughly offering up numerous effective prayers of forgiveness and renunciation, declaration and worship.

There was intermittent rain until the group re-gathered all together for worship and intercession under a canopy that was set up on the grounds.  At this point it began to pour!  With the rain pelting the tent covering, the prayers increased in fervency for the people of Prescott, our state, and the healing of our land.

Finally, we convened for a late lunch at a second floor private room at the nearby Gurley Street Grill.  Here, we debriefed, prayed for protection against any backlash, and heard many of the great testimonies of Henry Gruver's life in Christ around the world.

"If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them."
- John 20:23

TALIESIN WEST, SCOTTSDALE

At 4:00pm on Thursday, September 27, ten intercessors joined Henry Gruver to address the world-wide influence and impact of Frank Lloyd Wright and his New Age philosophy at one of his historic anchor locations in the desert of north Scottsdale.  The nature of the location does not lend to a large group of intercessors on their private land, so we invited a small team of intercessors already familiar with the issues and location.

Wright, who died in 1959, established Taliesin West in the 1930s as a winter home in tandem with his Taliesin headquarters in Spring Green, Wisconsin.  At these locations, architectural interns have lived in a communal lifestyle following the dictates of their 'cult-like' leader.  It was well-known that Wright himself had numerous affairs, left his first wife and their six children to travel Europe with another woman, was married three times, and espoused a man-centered morality of convenience.  To quote Wright:  "I spell God, N-A-T-U-R-E."  He also said, "morality is for normal people, and I'm not normal."  He came from the Unitarian Universalism tradition that denies the deity of Jesus.

The Taliesin West site is full of statues, obelisks, and architectural designs that reflect his New Age syncretistic religion.  He was also a friend and frequent visitor to Margaret Sanger, who founded Planned Parenthood in Tucson

For an hour and a half the intercessory team addressed these things in prayer.

TUCSON

At 10:00am on Saturday, September 29, sixty intercessors joined us in Tucson with Henry Gruver to continue dealing with the issues of Arizona's historic past.  After gathering at Victory Assembly to prepare for our assignment, we traveled to the heart of Tucson to a specific square block that once served as location for the territorial capitol of Arizona from 1867-1877, was the original site of the Margaret Sanger clinic established in 1935 that is the predecessor of all Planned Parenthood abortion clinics in Arizona, and now houses an active Masonic Temple which was built in 1915.

Directly across the street to the south is a homosexual bed and breakfast that is said to be the oldest existing house in Arizona built in 1850.  A hundred yards away is another plaque that announces that it is the location of the first American flag raised in Arizona in 1846.  Just to the north are the Federal Courthouse, known for its liberal pro-abortion slant, and the County Courthouse, the seats of justice for the region.

Again, the intercessors covered the area and surrounding blocks thoroughly and issued numerous renunciations, declarations, blessings and prayers.  One team lifted up worship the entire time at the very location where the Margaret Sanger clinic had been located.  At the conclusion of our time there we divided up into four groups standing on each of the four corners of the square block and simultaneously dedicated the land to the Lord.

Finally, at 1:00pm we went to the nearby historic El Charro Cafe for a meal, prayers, and fellowship together, celebrating what the Lord has accomplished.

"I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning; after that you will be called the city of righteousness, a faithful city." - Isaiah 1:26

A more detailed report of these prayer journeys, including the many written impressions and notations of several of the participating intercessors will be on record with Arizona Call to Prayer

HUMPHREYS PEAK ASCENT
June 9, 2007

“How lovely on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who announces peace and brings good news of happiness, who announces salvation, and says to Zion, “Your God reigns!””
– Isaiah 52:7

Saturday, June 9, 2007 – near Flagstaff, Arizona

From time to time we have the privilege to participate in something truly remarkable and historically significant.  The Humphreys Peak Ascent to raise the banner of the Lord at the highest point in Arizona was such an event.  Intercessors representing Northern, Central, and Southern Arizona joined together to hike to the summit of Humphreys Peak.  Additional teams were established near the summit at the sister mountain, Agassiz Peak, and at a Base Camp at Agassiz Lodge . . . YUMA HISTORICAL PRAYER JOURNEY
May 12, 2007

Theme verse:  "Make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose." - Philippians 2:2

On Saturday morning at 11:00am, May 12, 2007, intercessors gathered at Calvary Temple of Christ to be mobilized for a full afternoon of prayer journeying to a dozen significant locations in Yuma, Arizona.  A team from Phoenix and an intercessor from Tucson joined with pastors and intercessors from Yuma to invoke blessings and further address many of the historical and spiritual issues of the area.  There has been a good foundation of prayer laid in Yuma over many years.  Our desire was to build upon that foundation.  The prayer journey was coordinated by Arizona Call to Prayer in partnership with Jonathan Williams, Worship Pastor of Calvary Temple of Christ.

Historical researcher, Donna Nelesen, identified 12 target sites of historical, spiritual, and governmental significance, such as the St. Thomas Mission, Fort Yuma and the Quechan Indian Mission Buildings, the Yuma Crossing, Yuma County Courthouse, the Masonic Temple, site of the First Protestant Church, City Hall, and, of course, Arizona's first Territorial Prison grounds.

We divided into two main prayer teams, each with a leader, co-leader and two scribes.  The two teams would journey in opposite order to all of the identified sites.  This afforded two separate perspectives and provided remarkable corroboration of significant prayer themes.  In addition to these teams, two other small teams went on independent prayer assignments; one around the Marine Base, and the other to the Crossroads Mission facilities.

Some of the highlights of the prayer journey included raising a banner of the Lord and proclaiming the Lord Jesus Christ over Yuma at Fort Yuma and the St. Thomas Mission by two young men representing the next generation.  There was fervent prayer at the Yuma Crossing as intercessors literally stood in the waters of the Colorado River and interceded for the blessings of life, and stood against Meth and death along the entire western border region of Arizona where the Colorado flows.  There was a sense that the glory of the Lord will be seen here, an oasis in the desert, a new refreshing.

In the cul-de-sac where the Yuma County Courthouse, Detention Center, and the Masonic Temple are all located in downtown Yuma, there was prayer given to expose and break up unholy alliances and usher in God's righteousness and justice.  Extra time was spent at City Hall praying for good government and a 'portal of grace' for the city, and personally for the Mayor and other city officials.  Across the street a song was sung at the steps of the first Protestant Church acknowledging that "the Lord inhabits the praises of His people" (Psalm 22:3).

Both teams independently prayed Isaiah 61 and Isaiah 62:10-13 at the site of the first Territorial Prison.  This concludes with Isaiah 62:11-12... ""Lo, your salvation comes; behold His reward is with Him, and His recompense before Him."  And they will call them, "The holy people, the redeemed of the Lord"; and you will be called, "Sought out, a city not forsaken.""

After three hours the prayer journey was completed and everyone returned to Calvary Temple of Christ for a time to review, testimony, and worship.  There was a sense of joy, accomplishment, and continued intercession for godly unity to come in a greater way to the Church in the area, and the fulfillment of all of God's destiny for Yuma.
